Gutes Neues Jahr! .......................................................... Happy New Year!

.. Sie denken jetzt vielleicht, dass ich etwas spät bin?! .. ja und nein!

 

Ich habe in den letzten Tagen viele Grüße zum chinesischen Neujahrsfest (manche sagen auch ‚Frühlingsfest‘) aus Asien bekommen. Dort hat nämlich am 31. Januar das neue Jahr, das Jahr des Pferdes begonnen!

 

Am 31. Januar 2014 wurde in China mit dem Chinesischen Neujahrsfest der wichtigste chinesische Feiertag des Jahres begangen. Gefeiert wird das Chinesische Neujahrsfest vor allem in Ostasien, zusätzlich jedoch auch weltweit in Gebieten mit großen Bevölkerungsteilen ethnischer Chinesen, z.B. auch in den‚Chinatowns‘.

Das chinesische Neujahr ist ein Clan- und Familienfest. Die (kleine oder auch größere) Familie kommt spätestens am Vorabend des Neujahrsfestes zu einem reichhaltigen Festessen zusammen, traditionell mit Hühnchen und Fisch. Es werden dabei in rote Umschläge (sog. Hong Bao) verpackte Geldgeschenke an die Kinder verteilt. Vor Beginn des neuen Jahres zwischen 23 Uhr, wenn das Feuerwerk beginnt, und Mitternacht verlässt man das Haus und nimmt dabei die Spuren des alten Jahres mit sich ins Freie, kehrt anschließend zurück, um die Fenster zu öffnen und auf diese Weise das Glück des neuen Jahres einzulassen.

Der erste Tag des neuen Jahres wird ebenfalls im Kreise der Familie begangen. Man trifft sich am Morgen, grüßt seine Eltern mit einem Neujahrssegen und einem Kompliment. Im Anschluss werden Hong Baos an unverheiratete Mitglieder der Familie verteilt Es wird der Ahnen gedacht, Freunde und Verwandte werden besucht, denen ein gesegnetes Neujahr gewünscht wird. .. eigentlich wie Weihnachten bei uns!

 

Noch einige Worte zum Pferd, es ist ja das Jahr des Pferdes: Das Pferd gilt als ruhelos und immer auf der Suche nach neuen Abenteuern. Somit verspricht das Jahr 2014 voller Aufregung und Abenteuer zu werden! Wer neue Projekte geplant hat, sollte diese unbedingt angehen. Dennoch ist es wichtig, dass man sich nicht überanstrengt, denn das Jahr des Pferdes könnte auch in Hektik und Stress ausarten ..

.. you think that I am probably a little late? .. yes and no!

 

Within the last days, I have received many good wishes from Asia for a happy and prosperous New Year. The reason is that on January 31, the new year has started, the Year of the Horse.

 

On January 31, 2014, the most important festival of the Chinese year was celebrated, Chinese New Year Festival Year (some people say ‘Spring Festival’). The Chinese Spring Festival is mainly celebrated in Eastern Asia, but also globally in areas with high proportions of ethnic Chinese people, e.g. in the ‚Chinatowns‘ all ove the world.

 

The Chinese New Year Festival (CNY) is an event for the clans and for the families. At the latest the evening before CNY, the (sometimes very extended!) family comes jointly together for a rich banquet dinner that traditionally comes along with chicken and with fish. Red envelopes with some money (so called Hong Bao) are given to the children. Before the beginning of the New Year, between 11 pm and midnight, when the fireworks start, it is common to leave the house. Doing so, you will take all traces of last year with you. Upon return, the windows will be opened up in order to let the Fortune of the New Year into the house.

 

The first day of the New Year will be spent within the family. People meet in the morning, greet the parents with an New Year blessing and a compliment. Then, Hong Baos will be handed over to the unmarried members of the family. During the day, the family commemorates the ancestors, visits relatives and friends and wishes them a blessed and good New Year .. in principle like Christmas in Germany!

 

Just some words to the horse, it is the Year of the Horse! The horse is seen as restless and everytime in search for new adventures. So, the year 2014 promises to be a year full of excitement and adventures! Who is planning new projects should start immediately. Nevertheless, it is important not ot overdo the things. Because the Year of the Horse can also come along with stress and hectic activities ..
