Das chinesische Bruttoinlandsprodukt ist derzeit etwa 20% unter dem der USA (und der EU). Laut einer PwC-Studie wird die chinesische Wirtschaft in 15 Jahren um rund 30% größer sein als die Volkswirtschaft der USA. Der Abstand wird sich im Jahr 2050 auf knapp 50% vergrößert haben!
Renminbi überholt Euro und Yen
Der Renminbi hat laut Swift 2013 den Euro und den japanischen Yen als Standardwährung im Außenhandel überholt.
Größter Absatzmarkt für Autos
Die Autoproduktion in China läuft derzeit auf Hochtouren: Der Pkw-Absatz im Reich der Mitte stieg 2013 um 23% auf 16,3 Millionen Fahrzeuge. Auf dem zweitgrößten Markt, den USA, wurden 15,5 Millionen Autos verkauft, ein Plus von 7,5%.
560.681 Patentanmeldungen
In 2012 verzeichnete die World Intellectual Property Organization erstmals die meisten
Patentanmeldungen weltweit durch chinesische Staatsbürger (560.681). Gleichzeitig erhielt das chinesische Patentamt (Sipo) mit rund 650.000 die höchste Zahl aller Anträge weltweit.

In China gibt es laut Deutschem Städtetag weltweit die meisten Millionenstädte – derzeit sind es 166.

Obwohl es über 700 chinesische Familiennamen gibt, teilen sich die meisten Chinesen nur etwa 20 Namen. Die drei häufigsten sind Li, Wáng und Zhang. Weltweit tragen etwa 108 Millionen Menschen den Namen Li!

Chinesen sind weltweit die konsumfreudigsten Touristen: 2012 gaben 83 Millionen chinesische Auslandsreisende über 76 Milliarden Euro für Luxusgüter in Übersee aus, eine Steigerung um fast 100% gegenüber 40 Milliarden Euro in 2010!
2,8 Millionen Dollar-Millionäre
Die Zahl der reichen Chinesen wächst: Laut Hurun-Report 2013 stieg die Zahl der Dollar-Milliardäre von 64 in 2012 auf 315 in 2013 (2000 gab es noch keinen Dollar-Milliardär in China). Inzwischen gibt es 2,8 Millionen Dollar-Millionäre im Reich der Mitte.
Weltweit größter Produzent von Plastikweihnachtsbäumen
In China gibt es traditionell kein Weihnachtsfest, da das Christentum nur eine sehr untergeordnete Rolle spielt. Trotzdem werden 85% aller künstlichen Weihnachtsbäume hier produziert.

Currently, the Chinese gross domestic product (GDP) is appr. 20% behind the GDP of the US. According to a PwC-research study, in 15 years the Chinese economy will be 30% bigger than the US economy. In 2015, this gap will have increased to nearly 50%!
Renminbi overtakes Euro und Yen
According to Swift 2013, the Renminbi has overtaken the Euro and the Japanese Yen as currency in foreign trade activities.
Biggest car market
The production of passenger cars is booming: In 2013, car sales in China jumped by 23% to 16.3 Million cars. In the United States as the second biggest market, 15.5 Million passenger cars were sold, a plus of 7,5%.
560.681 patents filed
In 2012, for the first time ever, the World Intellectual Property Organization has registered the majority of all patents filed from Chinese citizens (560.681). The Chinese Intellectual Property Authority (Sipo) received 650.000 patent applications, the highest number of all applications worldwide.

Biggest producer of plastic Christmas trees
Due to the fact that Christianity only plays a minor role in China, there is no real Christmas tradition. Nevertheless, 85% of all plastic Christmas trees produced globally come from China!
